Join us for a Beer Talk with Half Acre, a Patagonia Provisions beer partner, on Wednesday, July 24th! Happy hour featuring our collaborative Kernza Lager will start at 5:30pm with live music from Josh Goodman and a Few Goodmen. Also, grantee Just Roots will be joining us to talk about their local urban farming efforts! Beer Talk beings promptly at 7:15pm. Learn about the history of Half Acre, the brewing process for the kernza lager, and much more.

The night will include:

Half Acre Beer Co.

Half Acre is one of Chicago’s pioneering breweries. Founded in 2007, they originally brewed beer in Black River Falls, Wisconsin for the handful of Chicago bars and shops. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Lincoln Ave, where they first brewed Daisy Cutter Pale Ale in 2009.

In 2015, they transformed a bow truss factory building in Bowmanville into their current home and brewery at 2050 W Balmoral Avenue (next door to Spiteful Brewing). The property includes a taproom and seasonal beer garden with full service dining and a retail shop.

Half Acre is also a Great Lakes Business Network member, joining more than 170 other businesses in Great Lakes protection & restoration work.

Just Roots Chicago works in collaboration with communities to develop and expand access to local, sustainably grown food. They do this by growing culturally relevant food, facilitating hands-on educational programming, and using the farms as community building spaces.
